How your contribution helps:
For millions of people around the world impacted by disaster, access to basic necessities like food and shelter is limited. Natural disasters have been steadily increasing in recent decades, disproportionately impacting the poor. In 2021 over 60 million people were displaced due to conflict and natural disasters. Access to food and nutritional conditions also determines people’s capacities to cope with disasters in both the short and long term. In many cases, during food shortages, women are most likely to suffer from malnutrition. New data from the Lancet Global Health shows that globally ½ of all school-aged children and ⅔ of all women of reproductive age suffer from at least one micronutrient deficiency. Micronutrient deficiencies or “hidden hunger” cause significant health and socioeconomic impacts on individuals and their communities.
Your contribution will help put Fish in relief boxes providing either nutritional food or water sanitation kits to families post-disaster helping families to get sustainable and long term access to iron, a critical component of good health. Past donations of Lucky Iron Fish have been included in kits delivered to families in Indonesia, Syria, Yemen and Venezuela.
