International Women's Day 2020
#InternationalWomensDay is a reminder of women's contributions to our society and how far we have come in our fight for equality. Throughout the world, we have seen not only conversations & movements take place like never before, but we have also seen meaningful change!
Yet it is important to remember that not a single country has achieved gender equality. (@UnitedNations)ā
Did you know that:
āļø even today, malnutrition is more common in women than men
āļø 40% of all maternal deaths are directly or indirectly associated with iron deficiency (a consequence of malnutrition)
āļø during food scarcity, such as poverty or natural disasters, women are more likely to suffer from malnutrition
āļø nutrition is one of the key components in determining one's socio-economic well being
āļø iron deficiency contributes to up to 20% loss of income

This is why we always say, iron deficiency is not a "women's problems" - it is a global problem. š
#IWD2020 is a great reminder of all that we have achieved so far. It is an even greater reminder of the opportunity we have to continue working towards a world where all women and girls have equality. šŖš»Let's do this!
