Proud social enterprise from day 1

Proud social enterprise from day 1

Over a decade ago, our company was born out of a doctorate research on addressing high anemia levels in a rural Cambodian village.

We have since gone on to experience significant growth and been able to reach over a million people worldwide! But what remains at the core of our company’s values is that same commitment to improve the health of communities all over the world.

As a certified B Corporation, we meet the highest measurable standards for social and environmental practices.

From Lucky Iron Fish to Lucky Iron Life

From Lucky Iron Fish to Lucky Iron Life

Our journey began back in 2008 in rural Cambodia, where we were working to find an accessible and sustainable source of iron for the villagers suffering from iron deficiency anemia. After many iterations of iron ingots, we landed on the shape of a fish – because in Cambodian culture, the symbol of luck is a fish!

Villagers who were previously suffering from lethargy and other symptoms of iron deficiency were provided with our cooking tool. After a while, when they began to feel the health benefits of improved iron, they would happily thank “the lucky fish”.

Thus, the Lucky Iron Fish was born!

As we continue to innovate and grow, we are now much more than just our original product. So in 2023,  we rebranded to Lucky Iron Life.

Our focus remains on finding innovative ways for communities everywhere to lead a healthier life – that’s just the Lucky Iron way.

I am a firm believer that businesses have a responsibility to solve some of the world’s greatest challenges. And one of the biggest challenges we face today is that of hidden hunger. Over 1/3 of the world’s population go to bed malnourished.

Iron deficiency is the world’s largest nutritional challenge negatively impacting over 2 billion people. Lucky Iron Fish was designed to serve as a simple solution to this complex problem.

We are on a mission to make iron deficiency a thing of the past, one fish at a time.
