February was a short month, but we made sure it was jam-packed with excitement. We are pleased to welcome a new team member, Anne Pringle, as the Impact and Partnerships Manager, and opened up a new site office.
Effective February 26, Anne’s new role will see her building on existing and developing new partnerships with NGOs and corporate partners to extend the impact of Lucky Iron Fish Enterprise (LIFE). She will also be working to increase our impact through on-the-ground workshops and overseeing educational components with our partners.
“Anne’s past experience as a social enterprise entrepreneur made her a perfect fit with LIFE,” says Dr. Gavin Armstrong, Founder and CEO. “She embodies our values to her core, plus has established international relationships that will be an amazing jumping-off point.”
In previous years, Anne co-founded an eco-friendly and ethical fashion line. Most recently, she’s been focused with Ryerson University as an instructor and manager for their social enterprise incubator, and continues to be passionate for social and ethical fashion products.
"I have been aware of and admired the work of Lucky Iron Fish for a number of years, since meeting Gavin through a business incubator. I am really excited to join this thriving social enterprise that truly includes impact throughout all aspects of its business model. I look forward to being part of this innovative team (and trying to keep up with the fish puns),” says Anne.
Anne has acquired a Diploma in Modern Dance, a BA in International Development and a MaSC in Environmental Applied Science. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, drinking coffee and dancing.
When not traveling to meet with our partners, Anne will be joining us in our newly-acquired office space in downtown Toronto, ON -- which gives us another reason to celebrate. Having dedicated regional working sites means that our team is better able to maximize productivity and allows for better meeting space with our partners and vendors.
Please leave us a note to welcome Anne to the team!
