Iron-Enriched Rice for the Ultimate Rice Bowls

Best way to up your iron enriched rice game? Just add your favourite toppings and upgrade it to a healthy rice bowl! ⁠

We love adding sweet potatoes, stir fried kale, beans, avo, and a cilantro-lime dressing! ⁠


1️⃣ Boil 4 cups of water. Once boiling add 2-3 drops of any acidic ingredient (citrus, vinegar tomato paste, etc.), as well as the Lucky Iron Fish/ Leaf.⁠

2️⃣ Continue boiling for 10 minutes. Then remove the Fish/ Leaf. ⁠

3️⃣ Add 2 cups of rice that has already been rinsed (till the water runs clear). Also add a tablespoon of butter and salt. ⁠

4️⃣ Reduce heat and cover the pot with a lid. Let the rice cook in simmering liquid for another 15 minutes. Then stir the rice until excess liquid is cooked off. Turn the heat off, place the lid back on and let the rice sit in the hot pan for few minutes to absorb the steam. ⁠
